    Are you a seasoned administrative professional looking for a rewarding role in a prestigious institution? The University of Sydney invites you to apply for the position of Senior Administrative Officer within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).

    About the Role

    In this full-time, ongoing position, you will oversee the administrative support for the Dean's Unit. Your role will involve providing operational and administrative assistance to Faculty Committees, managing records, and coordinating a variety of tasks and activities. Additionally, you will guide other administrative staff to ensure smooth and efficient work outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administrative Management: Deliver general administrative services and support to key Faculty committees.
    • Document Preparation: Draft documents, handle complex queries, investigate issues, and source solutions for the department.
    • Policy Advice: Analyze matters and provide policy and procedure advice to support work outcomes.
    • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements and the implementation of new initiatives and processes across the Faculty.
    • Coordination: Manage diaries, organize meetings and events, and provide conference support.
    • Project Management: Offer operational project management support during the organization and establishment of projects.

    About You

    Experience: Demonstrated experience in a high-level administrative support role. Time Management: Excellent skills in managing time and workload, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve outcomes. Organizational Skills: Strong administrative and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong problem-solving abilities. Coordination: Proven experience in effectively coordinating activities and projects. Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in the MS Suite.
